DO NOT GET YOUR BRACES DONE HERE! THEY WILL ROB YOU!
I have had my braces done at York Dental (Parma Heights, OH) a few years ago: when i was about 13/14. My insurance offered full coverage for whatever work needed to be done to my teeth. This place robbed my insurance and robbed my smile.

After having my braces on for about three months, Dr. A insisted on having an appliance be put in my mouth. This appliance did absolutely NOTHING for my teeth only cause pain and discomfort for months. While this appliance was in, i had a lisp for months, had to train myself to swallow correctly with it on, would develop many sores on my tongue, and even years later, i STILL HAVE THE BAR IMPRINT ON MY TONGUE. When asking them what it was for, they said it was for my speech. I have never had a lisp, accent, or anything wrong with my speech ever in my life: nothing close. Even when i asked my primary dentist what it was for they had no answer because they did not know. It was not an expander, or a thumb sucking guard, or anything i have researched; it was just there. No point. Just more money for them to take from my insurance.

I also got a tooth removed during the time i had braces. They do not allow parents to be in the room with you even as a minor. There is even a sign in the waiting room that says "for patient privacy parents must remain in waiting room." When they were getting ready to numb me with a shot, i hesitated and asked for my mom to be in the room since it is technically surgical. They forced me to stay down and insisted that my mom was not allowed. I even cried Keep in mind i was about 14 years old, still a minor. This was traumatizing.

I went in for a tightening after about 21 months(not even two years) and Dr. A says to me "today is the day", referring to getting my braces off, and i was so confused he didn't even look at my teeth that day. I was so confused and surprised because looking in the mirror they did not even look straight. I should have kept them on longer, my teeth were very messed up. To this day, 5 years later, i still have imperfect teeth. I still use my retainer every night too. I regret going to York because all they wanted was to get me out of there and take my money. I will definitely have to get braces again even though i still use my original retainer.

In between my tightenings, i never got my teeth regularly cleaned like you're supposed to with having braces. Dr. A failed to keep my teeth healthy.

Another point that is worth mentioning is that he had a different dental assistant every other month i came in. He would just fire these really nice girls all the time. The place is really small too, so it was easy to recognize new dental assistants.

Dr. A should be arrested for misuse of his license!!! He does not care about his patients he only cares about the money. He should be ashamed of what he does. I am not even sure if the things he does is legal.
